Keweenaw Reads

CcRC organizes a one book/one community reading experience

Keweenaw Reads (KR) provides facilitated reading discussions each summer throughout the Keweenaw. We read and discuss the book chosen for Michigan Tech's Summer Reading as Inquiry project: each summer first year students read a book in preparation for discussions on campus and an author presentation. KR's mission is to create connections and build community through reading and discussion a book in common.

The summer 2018 book choice is So You've Been Publicly Shamed by Jon Ronson.

Book discussions sponsored by the Copper Country Reading Council's KeweenawReads Project, with thanks to facilitators Tom Suchenek, Ruth Ryynanen, and Bob and Evie Johnson:
  1. Tom: August 9, 4pm, North Wind Books (Hancock)
  2. Ruth: August 15, 1pm, Portage Lake District Library (Houghton)
  3. Bob and Evie: August 26, 7pm, Grandpa's Barn (Copper Harbor)
